Washington, DC — The Trump administration is reportedly considering removing U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle as new allegations emerge that wealthy Greek businessmen financed luxury travel while she promoted their business interests.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Guilfoyle traveled to the World Economic Forum in Davos aboard a private jet owned by Greek businessman Alexandros Exarchou and planned additional travel on a jet belonging to shipping magnate Nikolas Tsakos. Tsakos also reportedly paid for her stay at the Four Seasons George V in Paris.

Audio reviewed by the Journal allegedly captured Guilfoyle boasting about her connections to the businessmen while seeking access to an event honoring Eric Trump. She was also reportedly recorded telling one businessman, “I’m going to make you a lot of f—ing money.”

The allegations raise questions about whether Guilfoyle improperly accepted gifts or used her diplomatic position to advance private commercial interests. She has denied wrongdoing and maintains that she followed applicable ethics rules.

President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are now weighing whether she should remain in the post, according to reporting cited by The Hill and the Associated Press.

The controversy follows separate allegations that Guilfoyle previously sought a $100,000 payment from a Republican donor while offering access to senior Trump administration officials, an accusation her attorney disputes.
