President-elect Donald Trump stated on Truth Social that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates plans to visit Mar-a-Lago on Friday evening, calling the Florida resort the “Center of the Universe.” Gates, who has previously criticized Trump’s policies, notably regarding COVID-19 and foreign affairs, congratulated Trump on his 2024 victory despite endorsing and financially supporting Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign.

Trump’s comments follow significant contributions to his inaugural fund from companies like Toyota, Ford, Amazon, Meta, and OpenAI. Several tech executives have also visited Trump in Florida, seeking stronger ties with his incoming administration.

Gates and Trump previously met in December 2016, discussing innovation in health, education, and energy. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation directed inquiries about Gates’s current activities to Gates Ventures, his personal company.
