Trump suggested the U.S. would take “long-term ownership” of the region, framing it as a real estate venture. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the plan as “revolutionary,” while Hamas leaders vowed to resist any occupation, calling it a “recipe for chaos.”
Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, and the UAE strongly oppose forced displacement, seeing it as a threat to regional peace and a two-state solution. Trump allies argue the proposal aims to pressure the region into offering alternative solutions, with U.S. officials estimating full reconstruction could take 10-15 years.
