WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump’s approval rating has dropped to 36%, the lowest level of his current term, as rising fuel costs and concerns over the Iran conflict weigh on public opinion, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll.

The four-day survey shows a decline from 40% approval just a week earlier, with economic concerns playing a central role. Only 29% of respondents approved of Trump’s handling of the economy, while just 25% supported his approach to the cost of living, an issue that had been a key focus of his campaign.

Fuel prices have risen sharply since U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran began in late February, with gasoline increasing by roughly $1 per gallon. The poll also found declining support for the military operation, with 35% approving of the strikes and 61% disapproving.

Despite the drop, Trump maintains relatively strong support among Republicans, though dissatisfaction within the party is growing on economic issues.

The poll indicates broader concern about the nation’s direction, with 63% of Americans describing the economy as weak, highlighting ongoing challenges for the administration as the conflict and its economic impact continue.
