Kennedy is also dealing with negative publicity, including allegations of sexual assault detailed in a Vanity Fair report, which he did not deny.

Kennedy’s remarks on 9/11 conspiracy theories and past controversies, such as promoting disproven claims about vaccines, have further damaged his credibility. Democrats, already divided over Biden’s candidacy, are not rallying behind Kennedy. With ongoing skepticism about his viability, Kennedy struggles to distinguish himself as a credible alternative, and many doubt his ability to gain significant support or even appear on most state ballots for the upcoming election.
