Washington, D.C. — President Donald Trump has publicly claimed the 2020 presidential election was “rigged” at least 107 times during the past six months, according to a Reuters review examining speeches, interviews, public appearances, and social media posts.

Reuters reported that Trump has repeatedly referenced alleged election fraud while also supporting stricter voting laws and encouraging Republican-led election reforms ahead of the upcoming midterm elections. The former president has pushed measures including proof-of-citizenship voting requirements and tighter restrictions on mail-in ballots.

Trump’s continued focus on the 2020 election remains a central issue within Republican politics nearly six years after his loss to former President Joe Biden. Multiple courts, state election officials, and federal investigations previously found no evidence of widespread fraud sufficient to alter the election outcome.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll cited in the report found that a majority of Republican voters continue to believe the election was stolen, while Democrats overwhelmingly reject those claims.

The issue has also created divisions within the Republican Party. Some GOP officials continue supporting Trump’s election integrity agenda, while others, including Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, have criticized continued claims that the election was illegitimate.

Meanwhile, several states have passed new voting restrictions or election security measures in recent years, often citing concerns about election confidence and voter fraud.
