Meghan McCain, daughter of the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), predicted that President Biden will not be re-elected “one way or another.” She suggested Biden should step aside or face a historic defeat. Her comments followed a week of Democratic tension after Biden’s shaky debate performance, which raised doubts about his candidacy.
Despite these concerns, the White House and Biden reaffirmed his commitment to the race. Biden stated in a fundraising email, “No one is pushing me out. I’m not leaving, I’m in this race to the end.” McCain criticized fervent Biden defenders, comparing them to Trump supporters and warning against cult-like presidential worship. Biden, in an ABC interview, dismissed the idea of stepping down unless divinely instructed.
