The Trump administration’s immigration crackdown is no longer confined to blue-collar sectors—it’s now spreading anxiety throughout corporate offices. Legal and HR experts report a surge in concerns from employers worried about potential ICE raids and the legal status of white-collar immigrant workers.

Many employees affected are working legally under asylum, parole, or Temporary Protected Status from countries like Venezuela, Haiti, Ukraine, and Afghanistan—protections the administration has been scaling back. Some companies are investing in green card sponsorships, while others are cutting staff due to uncertainty.

“There’s a fairly high share of undocumented workers in fast-growing occupations like data scientists and software developers,” said researcher Matthew Lisiecki of the Center for Migration Studies.

Though Trump briefly paused raids at certain industries, he has since ordered increased ICE operations in major Democratic-run cities. Firms are conducting internal audits to verify work authorization as fear grows that even authorized employees could lose legal status overnight.

Some multinational corporations are outsourcing roles abroad, citing difficulty hiring American replacements and long-term workforce instability.
