WASHINGTON, D.C. — Grindr is set to host its first event tied to the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, joining a growing lineup of parties surrounding the annual gathering of media and political figures.
The company announced it will hold a “White House Correspondents’ Dinner Weekend Party” in Georgetown the night before the April 25 event. Organizers say the gathering will bring together policymakers, journalists, and LGBTQ community leaders to discuss issues such as HIV funding, privacy, and online safety.
Grindr’s head of global government affairs, Joe Hack, said the event reflects the platform’s role in connecting communities affected by policy decisions in Washington. The company also emphasized its broader goal of fostering inclusivity across political perspectives.
The White House Correspondents’ Dinner, often referred to as “Nerd Prom,” attracts journalists, lawmakers, and celebrities for a mix of networking and entertainment. President Donald Trump, who skipped the event during his first term, has indicated he plans to attend this year’s dinner at the Washington Hilton.
The addition of Grindr’s event highlights the continued expansion of corporate and advocacy presence during the high-profile weekend.
