Washington, District of Columbia — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene publicly criticized President Donald Trump this weekend over his meetings with foreign leaders, signaling a deepening rift between the Georgia Republican and the president she once closely aligned with. Greene took aim at Trump’s scheduled talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, questioning the administration’s focus on overseas conflicts.
“Zelensky today. Netanyahu tomorrow. Can we just do America?” Greene wrote on social media, arguing that domestic priorities are being overshadowed by foreign engagements. Trump met with Zelensky in Palm Beach on Sunday and is set to meet Netanyahu on Monday, as his administration pushes diplomatic efforts tied to the wars in Ukraine and Gaza.
Greene’s comments reflect her broader opposition to U.S. military aid abroad. She has repeatedly criticized assistance to Ukraine and has accused Zelensky of authoritarian behavior, while also breaking with many Republicans by labeling the humanitarian crisis in Gaza a genocide. Earlier this year, she condemned a Trump-backed deal involving Ukraine that linked U.S. support to access to critical minerals.
The criticism follows a highly publicized fallout between Greene and Trump. Last month, Greene announced she was stepping back from Congress, citing personal and political strain after Trump withdrew his endorsement and called her a “traitor.” She said she did not want her district subjected to a divisive primary fight tied to internal party conflicts.
