The Biden campaign announced a $50 million advertisement investment on Monday to highlight the contrast between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump ahead of the first presidential debate at the end of June. The campaign’s 30-second ad, “Character Matters,” points to Trump’s criminal and civil convictions, stating, “He’s been convicted of 34 felonies, found liable for sexual assault, and he committed financial fraud,” while contrasting Biden as “working for your family.”
This television ad will air in all battleground states and on cable TV. Biden called Trump a “convicted felon” after the recent verdicts, emphasizing the stark choice in the upcoming election.
Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, was also recently convicted on three gun-related felony charges, with Biden expressing pride in his son despite the verdict.
With Biden and Trump close in the polls, Biden’s campaign aims to demonstrate his steady leadership against Trump’s “chaos and division” during the June 27 debate. The campaign’s media efforts include outreach to Black, Latino, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander voters.
