Washington, D.C. – A draft resolution tied to President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace for Gaza would reportedly grant broad legal immunity to board members, affiliates, and security forces operating in the territory, according to The Guardian.

The Guardian reported that the “sensitive but unclassified” draft would shield covered personnel from arrest, detention, or legal proceedings in Gaza while allowing the board to use property needed for its mission. Critics said the language could open the door to the confiscation of Palestinian property without sufficient legal oversight.

The Board of Peace was created to oversee Gaza’s reconstruction and postwar administration under a U.S.-backed framework. Trump serves as chair of the board, which was formally established earlier this year.

Rutgers professor Noura Erakat told The Guardian the reported draft would remove outside oversight and weaken accountability under international law. The draft also includes a third-party claims process for disputes arising from board operations.

A Board of Peace official disputed the report, saying there is “no operative resolution or immunity framework” of that kind.
