Former President Donald Trump plans to attend the National Association of Black Journalists’ annual convention in Chicago on Wednesday. The Trump campaign announced he will participate in a Q&A session focused on issues impacting the Black community.

Trump’s campaign has aimed to expand his appeal beyond traditional strongholds, including his controversial appearance at the Libertarian Party convention in Washington earlier this year.

The campaign highlighted Trump’s policies during his first term, claiming they benefited Black Americans.

President Joe Biden’s favorability among Black voters has declined since he took office in 2021. The presidential race dynamics shifted after Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, who could become the first Black woman and first South Asian American president if she wins in November.
