WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump pushed back Monday against sharp criticism from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), a longtime ally who recently turned on the president over his foreign policy agenda and handling of domestic issues.

As Trump prepared to meet Syrian President Ahmed al Sharaa at the White House, Greene posted on X that she wanted to see “nonstop meetings on domestic policy,” urging Trump to confront health insurance executives about rising costs linked to the Affordable Care Act.

Responding to reporters during an Oval Office swearing-in ceremony for Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, Trump said he was baffled by Greene’s attacks. “I don’t know what happened to Marjorie. She’s a nice woman, but I don’t know what happened. She’s lost her way, I think,” he said, adding that as president, “you really sort of have to watch over the world.”

Trump also accused Greene of “catering to the other side,” saying her recent comments reflected “a lack of understanding” of global leadership responsibilities. The ceremony was attended by senior administration figures and prominent conservative activists, including Jeanine Pirro and Turning Point USA’s Erika Kirk.
