WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump said Sunday he is willing to release the results of what he described as a “perfect” MRI conducted in October, responding to growing calls from Democratic leaders to make the medical information public. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who has traded increasingly sharp criticism with Trump in recent months, has been among the most vocal in urging the president to disclose the imaging results.
Walz said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that Trump appears to be “fading physically” and questioned his “mental capacity,” pointing to the president’s late-night social media posts targeting Minnesota’s Somali community. Walz, who ran for vice president alongside Kamala Harris in 2024, said Trump’s behavior is “not healthy” and called on him to address lingering questions about his condition.
Trump pushed back when asked about Walz’s comments, calling the governor “incompetent” and insisting his MRI was flawless. He claimed not to know what part of his body had been scanned but said it “wasn’t the brain,” citing a cognitive test he said he “aced.”
Speculation over Trump’s health has persisted this year following images showing bruising on his hands and a summer diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency. Although an October medical assessment declared the president in “exceptional health,” it did not mention the MRI. The White House later said the procedure was part of Trump’s routine physical.
