Kremlin officials said Moscow stands in “unwavering solidarity” with Cuba and condemned what it described as interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state. The statement comes as the U.S. increases economic pressure on Havana, including an energy blockade that has worsened fuel shortages and strained Cuba’s aging power infrastructure.

Russia indicated it remains in contact with Cuban leadership and is prepared to provide financial and material assistance to help stabilize the country’s economy.
