Former President Donald Trump has appointed lawyer Alina Habba to a prominent role in his administration’s transition team, continuing a trend of elevating attorneys who have defended him in court. Habba has represented Trump in several high-profile cases, including civil defamation and sexual assault lawsuits brought by E. Jean Carroll, which Trump denies and is appealing.
In a statement, Trump praised Habba as a “tireless advocate for Justice” and “fierce Defender of the Rule of Law,” highlighting her loyalty and resolve. He also noted her role as a first-generation American of Middle Eastern heritage and her recognition as Chaldean Woman of the Year.
