Former President Donald Trump, in a Monday night interview, reiterated his statement that Christians will never need to vote again if they support him this November, declining multiple requests to clarify.

Speaking to Christian conservatives on Friday, Trump said, “I love you. You got to get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not going to have to vote.” Democrats highlighted this as evidence Trump might end elections, a criticism Fox News’ Laura Ingraham called “ridiculous” but urged Trump to rebut.

Trump repeated his assertion, saying Christians don’t vote in large numbers and emphasizing their need to support him now. He claimed, “I’ll straighten out the country, you won’t have to vote anymore. I won’t need your vote.” Despite Ingraham’s attempts to clarify, Trump persisted, suggesting future votes would be unnecessary under his leadership.

Democrats, focusing on democracy in their campaigns, expressed concern over Trump’s comments. Harris campaign spokesperson Sarafina Chitika said, “Donald Trump has been clear about what he wants to do if he wins this November.” Trump downplayed the significance of his remarks, stating he would leave office after four years if re-elected.
