At a rally in Wisconsin, former President Trump criticized Fox News for broadcasting Vice President Kamala Harris’s speech following her visit to the southern border in Arizona. Trump expressed frustration, saying, “I have to sit there and listen to her bulls—… And who puts it on? Fox News.” He also claimed that everything Harris said, including her remarks about securing the border and stopping drug trafficking, was “a lie.”
Trump has made immigration a key issue ahead of the election, frequently criticizing the Biden-Harris administration’s policies. In contrast, Harris has promoted her immigration record, asserting that she is tougher than Trump on the issue. While Trump has labeled Harris the “border czar,” she has defended her role since 2021, when President Biden tasked her with addressing migration from Mexico and Central America.
Earlier in the week, Trump attacked Harris’s visit to Arizona, accusing her of making the trip for political gain, and criticized her handling of border issues. Despite a record high in migrant encounters in late 2023, border apprehensions have significantly decreased during the summer due to stricter Biden administration policies.
