Washington, D.C. — President Donald Trump’s standing with women has weakened significantly heading into the November midterms, with multiple national polls showing him deeply underwater among female voters.
ActiVote’s latest monthly survey found 34% of women approved of Trump’s job performance while 64% disapproved, a net rating of minus 30. In June, the same measure stood at minus 16, meaning his net approval among women deteriorated by 14 points over two months. ActiVote’s overall August survey placed Trump at 37.9% approval and 56.4% disapproval nationally.
Emerson College Polling found a similar gender gap in mid-August. Women disapproved of Trump by 62% to 32%, while men were evenly divided at 48% approval and 48% disapproval. Emerson surveyed 1,000 likely voters and reported a 3-point credibility interval, while cautioning that demographic subgroups carry larger uncertainty.
Newsweek also cited Bellwether Research and Consulting polling showing 32% approval among women and reported that affordability remained their top concern. The pollster told Newsweek that some independents and Republican-leaning women who backed Trump in 2024 over inflation and living costs have since moved away from him.
The trend does not establish how women will vote in November, but it presents Republicans with a challenge as congressional candidates campaign alongside a president whose ratings remain substantially weaker with women than with men.
