Austin, Texas — President Donald Trump’s super PAC, MAGA Inc., has committed at least $10 million to support Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in his U.S. Senate race against Democrat James Talarico, according to a new Federal Election Commission filing.
The spending is split evenly, with $5 million devoted to advertisements supporting Paxton and another $5 million targeting Talarico. The investment comes as Republicans work to defend a narrow Senate majority in November and Texas emerges as one of the most expensive contests on the map.
Trump has already endorsed Paxton and said Friday that MAGA Inc. plans to spend between $400 million and $500 million on Republican candidates during the final stretch of the midterms. Reuters reported that the super PAC has amassed a war chest approaching $1 billion, giving Trump significant resources to influence congressional races nationwide.
The Texas contest has drawn growing national attention as polling shows a close race. Republican leaders have also emphasized the high cost of competing statewide, where advertising across multiple major media markets can quickly consume campaign resources.
Paxton has benefited from other outside spending as well. Elon Musk’s America PAC recently spent nearly $250,000 supporting his campaign as part of a broader push into competitive congressional races.
MAGA Inc.’s $10 million commitment signals that Trump and his allies are treating Texas as a priority despite the state’s longstanding Republican lean.
