Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has endorsed Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) as Vice President Harris’s potential running mate, praising his advocacy for the working class. “I think you have an excellent governor who understands the needs of working families,” Sanders told Minnesota Public Radio. Sanders highlighted Walz’s ability to challenge powerful corporate interests and expressed his hope that Harris would choose such a partner.

Sanders, campaigning in Minnesota for Rep. Ilhan Omar (D), emphasized his commitment to supporting Harris against former President Trump in November. He praised Harris’s record on climate change, women’s rights, and democracy, stressing the importance of addressing working families’ needs.

Walz, a former congressman with Midwestern roots and a military background, is seen as a strong contender for Harris’s running mate. His support for labor unions and working families has garnered backing from House Democrats and progressives. Walz acknowledged the honor of being considered, while Harris is expected to announce her choice soon.
