Lara Trump, newly elected co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), highlighted “protecting the vote” as the party’s foremost priority for the upcoming November elections. Speaking on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” she responded to Attorney General Merrick Garland’s concern over states implementing restrictive voting measures, asserting the importance of election integrity. She identified three main pillars for the RNC: turning out the vote, protecting the vote, and fundraising, with a particular emphasis on ensuring voters’ confidence in the electoral process.
Lara Trump criticized the controversies surrounding the 2020 election, stressing the need to avoid a repeat of such disputes. Despite widespread evidence to the contrary, claims of fraud in the 2020 election have been persistently made by former President Trump and his supporters.
To bolster election integrity, the RNC has set up an “election integrity division,” comprising a network of volunteers, poll watchers, and trained poll workers. Lara Trump revealed that the committee is currently involved in 78 lawsuits across 23 states, aimed at making voting more accessible while preventing fraud. She issued a stern warning against election cheating, promising rigorous legal action against offenders to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections for all, regardless of political affiliation.
