WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Trump administration is preparing to release a report accusing the Biden-era Department of Justice of exhibiting anti-Christian bias through its enforcement of abortion clinic protections and COVID-era policies, according to details first reported by NBC News.
The report stems from a 2025 executive order signed by President Donald Trump directing a task force to investigate alleged discrimination against Christians in federal policy. While the findings will not carry legal authority, they are expected to frame the Biden administration’s actions as limiting religious expression in public life.
Critics, including the Interfaith Alliance, have disputed those claims, stating there is no evidence of widespread anti-Christian bias and warning the report could be used to justify discrimination. Meanwhile, former Biden Justice Department officials defended their record, emphasizing that enforcement actions prioritized public safety and followed existing law.
A key focus of the report is expected to be the use of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which has historically been applied to protect abortion providers and patients. The Trump administration has already pardoned some individuals convicted under the law and signaled broader concerns about its use.
The report also revisits a controversial FBI memo regarding extremist Catholic groups, which was later disavowed by agency leadership. Additional findings from a separate DOJ “weaponization” review are expected soon.
