Thousands of demonstrators rallied across the U.S. on Saturday to protest the Trump administration’s actions, including mass layoffs, the Gaza conflict, and the deportation of Maryland resident Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

Major protests took place in Lafayette Square near the White House, near the Washington Monument, and in cities across New York, Massachusetts, and Florida. Organized by the group 50501 — which previously led President’s Day protests — the demonstrations condemned what organizers described as a constitutional crisis stemming from Trump’s refusal to return Abrego Garcia, despite a binding Supreme Court order.

Participants voiced frustration with the administration’s policies. “This is a very perilous time in America for liberty,” said one protester in Massachusetts. Others compared Trump’s leadership to fascism, citing defiance of courts and student deportations.

Saturday’s rallies follow other movements such as “Hands Off!” and “Tesla Takedown,” protesting Trump’s collaboration with Elon Musk. The White House, referencing Abrego Garcia, posted online, “If he tattoos like MS-13… THEN HE’S PROBABLY MS-13.”
