Washington, D.C. — Rep. Thomas Massie pledged Sunday to publicly identify additional individuals connected to Jeffrey Epstein whose names remain redacted in government files, intensifying his ongoing dispute with the Trump administration and Justice Department officials.
During an appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press, the Kentucky Republican accused federal officials of improperly withholding “millions of files” connected to Epstein investigations. Massie specifically criticized Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche and accused the Justice Department of excessive redactions and violating transparency laws.
Massie said he has already publicly identified at least three billionaires allegedly referenced in the records and vowed to continue pressing for additional disclosures during his remaining months in Congress. His term runs through January after losing last week’s Republican primary to Trump-backed candidate Ed Gallrein in what became the most expensive House primary race in U.S. history.
The Epstein files have become a growing source of division within Trump’s political coalition, with several Republican figures supporting broader disclosure efforts while others defend the Justice Department’s handling of sensitive materials and redactions.
Massie also argued that parts of the Republican base are increasingly frustrated with Trump and warned the party could face political consequences in future elections. Despite his primary defeat, Massie hinted he may remain politically active and did not rule out a future presidential campaign or another national role.
