Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) announced she will not challenge Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) for his Senate seat in 2026, calling the upper chamber “corrupt and worthless” in a lengthy post on X. Greene said “the Senate is where good ideas go to die,” and criticized both Republican and Democratic leadership.
She condemned GOP leaders for being no different from Sen. Mitch McConnell, and said Ossoff “isn’t the real problem,” labeling him “just a vote.” Greene accused Republican senators of skipping votes for fundraisers and failing Trump’s agenda.
Even Donald Trump was not spared, with Greene suggesting his endorsements won’t save “approved candidates” who don’t connect with voters. Still, she reaffirmed her admiration for the former president while condemning the system that obstructs him.
Addressing Ossoff directly, Greene said: “I’m not running. Good luck raising money off someone else.”
Greene had been rumored to be eyeing the race, but her withdrawal leaves Georgia Republicans looking for alternative contenders.
