Trailing Biden by 30 points, independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. urged Biden to withdraw from the race to prevent Trump’s return to the White House. Kennedy stated, “We only have one chance to beat Donald Trump, and we need a nominee who can get the job done. And that would be me,”.

Kennedy proposed a “No Spoiler Pledge,” asking Biden to step down if he fares worse than Kennedy in a mid-October poll against Trump. He dismissed accusations of being a spoiler and presented a poll showing him defeating Trump without Biden in the race.

Kennedy’s campaign manager, Amaryllis Fox Kennedy, argued that it’s fair to ask Biden to withdraw as the DNC has requested Kennedy to do the same. The Kennedy campaign did not present any three-way race results. Kennedy currently holds about 11% support in national polls.

Kennedy’s campaign is gathering signatures to get his name on the New York ballot, with significant support from younger voters and veterans. Kennedy concluded, “People who believe that I am spoiling at this point for President Biden, need to look at data.”
