Vice President Harris’s favorability has increased among independents and Democrats since June, according to a Gallup poll. Her overall favorability rating among U.S. adults rose from 34% in June to 47% in August. Among Democrats, it surged from 77% to 93%, while her favorability with independents climbed from 28% to 41%.
Harris’s rating with Republicans remained unchanged at 5%. This poll was released ahead of her scheduled speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, where she will accept her party’s nomination.
President Biden’s approval rating increased by 7 points to 43%, while former President Trump’s favorability dropped by 5 points to 41%. Among independents, Trump had a 36% favorability rating compared to Biden’s 30%.
The Gallup survey was conducted from August 1-20 among 1,015 adults, with a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
