Vice President Kamala Harris will call for more resources for border patrol agents and emphasize the importance of curbing fentanyl smuggling during her visit to Douglas, Arizona, on Friday. She plans to stress that protecting American sovereignty requires clear border policies and enforcement, while rejecting the notion that securing the border and maintaining a humane immigration system are mutually exclusive.
Harris will also reiterate her support for a bipartisan border deal, which failed earlier in the House after opposition from Republicans. She will outline plans to increase fentanyl detection at ports of entry and hire 1,500 additional border agents.
Her campaign has launched a new ad, “Never Back Down,” highlighting her commitment to border security and targeting battleground states.
