The briefing had been scheduled for 8 a.m., coming less than a day before Trump’s ultimatum for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face potential U.S. military strikes targeting infrastructure. The White House has framed the situation as part of an escalating conflict affecting global energy markets.
Trump warned that failure to comply could result in widespread attacks on Iranian power plants and bridges, signaling a possible intensification of military action. However, he did not provide a definitive course of action if Iran does not meet the deadline.
