Washington, DC — President Donald Trump’s job approval has fallen to the lowest level ever recorded for him in a Fox News poll, while the network’s own election analysis says Democrats are positioned to take control of the House.
The latest Fox News survey found just 36% of registered voters approve of Trump’s job performance, while 64% disapprove. His approval had been stuck at 39% since May but has now fallen further, with declines particularly pronounced among younger voters, lower-income households, non-White voters and people without college degrees.
Trump is also struggling badly on the economy. Seventy percent disapprove of his economic performance, 77% disapprove of his handling of inflation and 69% disapprove of his tariff policies. Only 18% of voters say their families are financially better off than two years ago.
The political consequences are showing up in congressional polling. Fox found Democrats leading Republicans 54%-45% on the generic House ballot, while its latest Power Rankings say Democrats are poised to win control of the chamber and have shifted 20 additional races in their direction.
Fox currently rates 215 seats Democratic and 201 Republican before toss-ups are resolved. Its analysis says Democrats have a wider and more durable generic-ballot advantage than they held before the 2018 blue-wave election.
