Glen Rogers, a 62-year-old convicted serial killer known as the “Casanova Killer,” used his final words before execution Thursday to express support for President Donald Trump, saying, “President Trump, keep making America great. I’m ready to go.”

Rogers was executed by lethal injection in Florida for the 1995 murder of Tina Marie Cribbs, a 34-year-old mother of two. He was also convicted in the strangulation of another woman and suspected in multiple other murders, with some authorities estimating his victim count could be as high as 70.

Witnesses, including media and victims’ family members, were reportedly surprised by Rogers’s final political message. “I was like, ‘Where did that even come from?’” said Randy Roberson, whose mother was among the suspected victims, speaking to USA Today.

Before praising Trump, Rogers offered vague words of comfort to his victims’ families, saying, “I know there’s a lot of questions that you need answers to… I hope in some way [they] will bring you closure.”
