Elon Musk will attend President Donald Trump’s first White House Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed. Musk’s presence follows growing confusion over his directive requiring federal employees to submit weekly summaries of their accomplishments.

The directive sparked pushback from Trump-appointed agency heads, including at the Justice Department, FBI, and CIA, who warned employees not to respond due to national security concerns. Leavitt dismissed concerns about internal conflicts, insisting the administration remains unified.

Musk, identified in court filings as a senior adviser to the president rather than a formal DOGE official, has led sweeping efforts to reduce government inefficiency. Leavitt declined to disclose who officially leads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) but reaffirmed Musk’s influence.

The meeting is expected to address ongoing bureaucratic restructuring, though specific details remain unclear. Trump’s administration continues to navigate tensions as agencies resist Musk’s aggressive oversight.
