The Justice Department released hundreds of Jeffrey Epstein-related documents Thursday, but Attorney General Pam Bondi is demanding full transparency, accusing FBI Director Kash Patel of withholding critical records.
In a letter to Patel, Bondi gave him an 8 a.m. deadline Friday to turn over all Epstein-related materials, including audio and video recordings. She also ordered an immediate investigation into why her prior requests were ignored and why she initially received only 200 pages of flight logs and contact lists despite reports that thousands of pages exist.
Patel, who has framed his tenure as ushering in a “new era” of transparency, promised “no cover-ups” and “no missing documents” but has not fully responded to Bondi’s demands.
Critics, including Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), voiced frustration over the limited document release, calling it “not what we asked for”. The dispute highlights growing tensions within the Trump administration over handling high-profile declassifications.
