Attorney General Pamela Bondi hosted top Trump administration officials Tuesday for the inaugural meeting of the Eradicating Anti-Christian Bias Task Force at the Department of Justice, created by executive order in February.
Bondi said the task force will work to uncover and eliminate unlawful anti-Christian practices in government, consult with faith-based organizations and state leaders, and address any regulatory deficiencies contributing to bias. “The Biden administration engaged in an egregious pattern of targeting peaceful Christians,” Bondi claimed, referencing prosecutions of anti-abortion demonstrators under federal law.
High-ranking officials in attendance included Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, FBI Director and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Education Secretary Linda McMahon.
Critics, including Americans United for Separation of Church and State, argue the task force could be used to justify discrimination. President Trump has vowed to defend Christianity across schools, the military, and public institutions, saying during Holy Week his administration will protect religious liberty and “bring religion back.”
