Hundreds gathered outside the Colorado Capitol in Denver on Saturday as part of a national anti-Trump protest series dubbed “Rage Against the Regime” — with organizers urging action against the administration’s immigration crackdown and budget cuts.
Led by Colorado 50501, the event was one of over 300 coordinated nationwide. Groups like the Party for Socialism and Liberation and Aurora Unidos CSO joined with booths and speeches focused on resisting what they called Trump’s “regime.”
The crowd chanted “No hate, no fear, immigrants are welcome here,” and protested recent mass deportations, cuts to public media, and sweeping agency layoffs.
Aurora Unidos CSO co-founder Brandon Quintanilla said his family was affected by deportations, adding that “attacks on our people… have only escalated to unprecedented levels under the Trump administration.”
Protesters also condemned the new $170 billion immigration enforcement allocation from Trump’s recent federal budget bill.
Denver residents Phaedra and Nancy Andersen, longtime protest participants, called the movement a fight to preserve democracy. “We are on the very edge of losing our democracy,” said Nancy Andersen.
