Santa Clara, California — Federal immigration agents will conduct enforcement operations during Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium on Feb. 8, according to the Department of Homeland Security, as speculation swirled online about whether Immigration and Customs Enforcement would be present at the event.

DHS confirmed that ICE agents will be part of the broader security operation surrounding the Super Bowl, which will feature the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks. Tricia McLaughlin Yoho, DHS assistant secretary for public affairs, said the department routinely participates in security planning for major events, including the Super Bowl and the World Cup, and described the mission as unchanged.

ICE is expected to be visible in and around Levi’s Stadium as part of what DHS described as a coordinated effort with federal and local partners to ensure public safety. DHS officials emphasized that enforcement operations will not be paused for the game.

DHS adviser Corey Lewandowski previously said federal immigration enforcement is a directive from President Donald Trump and applies everywhere, including large public gatherings. He said there are no designated “safe havens” from enforcement actions.

The announcement comes amid heightened national attention on immigration enforcement and as rumors spread following the selection of Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl halftime performer. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has defended the league’s entertainment choices, while DHS said security planning will follow constitutional guidelines.

DHS officials said individuals who are in the country legally and not violating other laws have nothing to fear during Super Bowl security operations.
