Santa Clara, California — Hundreds of demonstrators gathered near Levi’s Stadium on Sunday as the Super Bowl unfolded inside, protesting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and broader immigration policies under the Trump administration.
Roughly 300 protesters marched around the stadium during the game, holding signs calling for “ICE out” and criticizing federal immigration enforcement. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), whose district includes the stadium, joined the demonstration and marched alongside activists.
Khanna said he intentionally chose to be with protesters rather than attending Super Bowl events. In a post on social media, he wrote that while the game was taking place in his district, he was “with activists… demanding no new funding for ICE.”
Video and reporting from the scene indicated the protest remained peaceful. Nexstar’s KRON reported no counter-protesters were present and no arrests were made. Law enforcement activity appeared limited to routine crowd monitoring.
The protest followed days of speculation about potential ICE operations at the Super Bowl. Concerns escalated after White House adviser Cory Lewandowski suggested ICE would be present, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said agents would be “all over” the event. NFL officials later pushed back, stating no ICE enforcement actions were planned for the game.
As of Sunday evening, no ICE activity had been reported in or around the stadium.
