Rudy Giuliani, once celebrated as “America’s mayor,” is confronting significant legal and financial troubles. He faces a criminal trial in Georgia and is an alleged co-conspirator in a federal indictment against Donald Trump. Giuliani was recently ordered to pay $148 million in a defamation case brought by two former Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” Moss. This verdict represents a new low for Giuliani, whose support of Trump’s false election claims has resulted in criminal charges and substantial legal fees.

Giuliani remains defiant, vowing to appeal the verdict and continuing to assert the 2020 election was stolen from Trump. His financial status is under scrutiny, with reports suggesting he may be nearing bankruptcy. Despite his challenges, Giuliani has pleaded not guilty in the Georgia criminal case, where he faces 13 charges, including violation of Georgia’s anti-racketeering law.

The defamation case involved emotional testimony from Freeman and Moss, who described receiving racist and threatening messages due to false conspiracy theories promoted by Giuliani and others. Although Giuliani has been found liable and admitted to making false accusations, it’s uncertain if the plaintiffs will receive the full compensation.

Giuliani’s legal woes extend beyond this case. He faces another defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems, owes substantial legal fees, and is involved in several other legal disputes.
