Donald Trump has clinched a victory in the New Hampshire GOP primary, securing 54.5% of the votes. This result strengthens his position as the leading Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential election. Nikki Haley, his main rival in the race, garnered 43.2% of the votes. From the available 22 GOP delegates in New Hampshire, Trump won 11 delegates while Haley secured 6 delegates. Other candidates shared minimal support, with Ron DeSantis receiving 0.7% and others collectively obtaining 0.8% of the votes.

On the Democratic side, President Joe Biden emerged as the winner in a unique scenario. He prevailed in the New Hampshire Democratic primary through a successful write-in campaign by his supporters despite not actively campaigning in the state or having his name on the ballot. This situation arose after New Hampshire scheduled its primary before South Carolina, defying new party rules set by the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Consequently, the DNC did not sanction the New Hampshire primary, leading to no allocation of delegates to any Democratic candidate, including Biden. This decision was part of a broader DNC strategy to emphasize diversity in the primary process and make South Carolina, a state with a more diverse electorate, the first primary contest.

The outcomes in New Hampshire set a path for both parties’ candidates, with Trump’s victory solidifying his frontrunner status in the GOP and Biden’s unconventional win demonstrating his continued influence in the Democratic Party.
