President-elect Donald Trump condemned President Joe Biden’s pardon of his son Hunter Biden, calling it “an abuse and miscarriage of justice.” In a Truth Social post, Trump questioned whether the pardon extended to Jan. 6 defendants, referring to them as “hostages.”
Biden, who leaves office in January 2025, defended the decision, citing perceived unequal treatment in the Justice Department’s nearly six-year investigation into his son. The pardon was issued after Biden deliberated over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Meanwhile, the Department of Justice continues its Jan. 6 investigations, charging over 1,500 people and pursuing hundreds of additional suspects.
