ATLANTA, GA — A heated Republican primary for governor in Georgia is intensifying as candidate Rick Jackson rolls out a series of hardline campaign ads focused on immigration and cultural issues.

Jackson, a businessman who entered the race earlier this year, has saturated media platforms with ads pledging strict enforcement against undocumented immigrants who commit violent crimes. In one widely circulated message, he warns offenders they will be “deported or departed,” while also criticizing cultural influences he says conflict with American values.

The campaign has also featured positions on other contentious topics, including proposals to criminalize what he calls “reverse discrimination” and to impose penalties related to gender-affirming care for minors. State law already restricts certain medical treatments for minors, though Jackson’s messaging has drawn attention for its tone and framing.

The race has become increasingly combative between Jackson and Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, a fellow Republican and early frontrunner backed by Donald Trump. The two have exchanged legal challenges and political attacks, including disputes over campaign financing rules and business dealings.

With early voting approaching, the primary remains highly competitive, with both candidates seeking to consolidate support within the party.
