A new Marquette Law School poll shows that 51% of U.S. adults approve of the Supreme Court’s performance, marking the first time its approval has surpassed 50% since early 2022. In December, approval stood at 48%.
The survey also found that 83% of respondents believe the president must follow Supreme Court rulings, while 17% think the president has the power to ignore them.
Additionally, 62% of adults support the court’s recent decision upholding legislation requiring ByteDance to sell TikTok or face a U.S. ban. Support is strongest among Republicans (73%), compared to 54% of Democrats and 53% of independents.
The poll, conducted from Jan. 27 to Feb. 5 among 1,018 adults, has a margin of error of ±3.5 percentage points.
