Tesla CEO Elon Musk expressed concern regarding a recent decision by a judge in Washington, D.C., who sentenced two teenagers to probation following their involvement in the attack on Edward “Big Balls” Coristine, a former staff member at Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The incident, which took place in August, involved eight teenagers, with two ultimately pleading guilty to simple assault. Judge Kendra Briggs sentenced the male offender to 12 months of probation and the female to nine months. Musk’s remarks highlight the importance of addressing youth behavior and promoting constructive rehabilitation in the justice system.

“This was a racist verdict by a racist judge,” Musk wrote on X, claiming that “if the races were reversed, the White kids would be in prison.” His PAC, America, also denounced the decision, saying the attackers “will avoid jail.”

Sen. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) cited the case while promoting his DC CRIMES Act, which seeks to toughen penalties for violent juveniles in the capital. Judge Briggs, appointed by President Joe Biden, previously served as an assistant U.S. attorney.
