Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) said they will hold a Capitol press conference September 3 with 10 victims of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking to demand release of government files tied to the case. Massie called on Speaker Mike Johnson to “listen to the pleas” of victims and stop blocking a vote.
“What will be explosive is the Sept. 3 press conference that both of us are having with 10 Epstein victims, many who have never spoken out before,” Khanna told NBC News anchor Kristen Welker on “Meet the Press.” Victims will share their stories and call for full disclosure of Epstein-related records.
Earlier this summer, Donald Trump faced bipartisan criticism over his administration’s handling of information tied to Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges.
Khanna expressed confidence Congress will act, saying all 212 Democrats and at least 12 Republicans are backing the measure. Johnson recently suggested the House will “probably” vote on a proposal to release more Epstein documents.
