Ervin Lee Bolling, identified as an ex-military member, is accused of driving his SUV into a barricade at the FBI office in Atlanta, showcasing potential ties to QAnon and support for former President Donald Trump. Bolling, who faces a charge of destruction of government property, has not entered a plea. Following the incident, he resisted arrest by FBI agents after attempting to bypass security measures.

Advance Democracy’s investigation into Bolling’s online activities revealed his engagement with QAnon-related content and expressions of support for Trump on social media platforms. This includes a post from December 2020, declaring admiration for Trump and suggesting widespread support beyond the president’s awareness.

A separate Telegram account linked to Bolling was found to be associated with multiple public groups related to QAnon, indicating a broader engagement with conspiracy theories, particularly those concerning the 2020 presidential election.

The motivation behind Bolling’s actions remains unclear, but this incident contributes to a disturbing trend of individuals influenced by conspiracy theories and anti-government rhetoric taking violent actions against public facilities and officials. Daniel J. Jones, president of Advance Democracy, highlighted the necessity of addressing the escalating violent discourse and actions, urging especially Republican officials to condemn such behaviors.
