ATLANTA, Georgia — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said in a forthcoming 60 Minutes interview that many Republican lawmakers privately mocked President Trump even as they publicly supported him during the 2024 primary season. Greene, once one of Trump’s most outspoken allies, told CBS’s Lesley Stahl that colleagues ridiculed Trump’s mannerisms and criticized her for supporting him before shifting their tone when he secured the nomination.

Greene described the behavior as hypocritical, saying lawmakers began “kissing his a–” once Trump became the party’s presumptive nominee. The comments come amid an ongoing and highly public falling-out between Greene and the president.

Last month, Trump withdrew his endorsement of Greene, calling her a “traitor” and accusing her of constant complaining. Greene responded by announcing she would step back from Congress, saying she refused to be a “battered wife” in a political environment where she expected to face a Trump-backed primary challenger.

Greene also criticized GOP leadership’s messaging on government funding, expressing concern that the expiration of Affordable Care Act tax credits could raise insurance costs for families. Her remarks have deepened the divide between herself and party leaders as Republicans navigate internal tensions ahead of the 2026 midterms.

The full 60 Minutes interview is scheduled to air Sunday night.
