A petition by Faithful America, a left-leaning group opposing Christian nationalism, has garnered over 13,000 signatures rebuking religious attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris. The petition condemns conservative Christians for using racist and sexist slurs, such as “Jezebel,” to attack Harris.

The petition highlights how “Christian-nationalist leaders” have used the Biblical character Jezebel as a racist and sexist trope against Harris. It also references comments from Jackson Lahmeyer, head of Pastors of Trump, and televangelist Lance Wallnau, who described Harris as representing “the spirit of Jezebel.”

President Joe Biden ended his campaign on July 21, endorsing Harris, who has quickly gained Democratic support. The petition argues these attacks contradict Gospel teachings and could incite real-world violence, calling for unity against such divisive rhetoric.

Conservative commentator Tomi Lahren has warned Republicans that attacking Harris based on her gender or race could backfire, potentially distracting from her policies and record.
