Columbus, Ohio — A statewide anti-human trafficking operation in Ohio resulted in 122 arrests over an eight-day crackdown targeting suspected traffickers, sex buyers, and individuals accused of attempting to exploit minors, state officials announced.

Operation Spring Cleaning, coordinated by the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission, took place between May 13 and May 20 across 15 counties. According to Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, 84 people were arrested on prostitution-related or solicitation charges, while 38 others faced felony offenses tied to human trafficking, child exploitation, promoting prostitution, and drug crimes.

Authorities said several suspects allegedly attempted to arrange sexual encounters with minors during undercover operations. Investigators also executed 15 search warrants at massage parlors suspected of being linked to trafficking activity and seized more than $120,000 in cash.

Officials said the operation connected 42 human trafficking survivors with medical care, counseling, and social service support organizations.

Among those arrested was a Cleveland firefighter along with several individuals accused of trafficking-related crimes involving minors. Authorities emphasized that the investigations remain ongoing and additional arrests or charges could still follow.

Attorney General Yost said the latest operation pushes the total number of arrests from Ohio’s anti-trafficking sting operations past 1,000 since similar statewide enforcement efforts began in 2019.
